In the grand tradition of Every Student Who Has Gone Abroad Ever, I'm writing a blog about my experiences. Currently, said experiences amount to a) realising that a pot I haven't been able to find for a month wound up in a bookshelf somehow, and b) logistics.
That pot is now safely ensconced away inside my suitcase. I leave for Scotland later today, after spending almost two months on holiday. It's strange, Scotland doesn't seem an actual country yet. Instead, it's this mix of anticipation and train tickets and that place I need warmer clothes for. I've lost all Canadian immunity to cold, if I've ever had it -- I'll think California cold in the mornings. I've already said my good-byes to California sun (and O, how I shall miss thee), but it will just have to do without me for a few months.
Most of my belongings have been packed. I'm trying now to figure out what it will be that I will have forgotten. These past few days have been a flurry of appointments, printing, and last-minute errands. Even so, the days were passing by like a funeral march, each agonisingly slow step bringing me closer to today.
And finally today has arrived.
This is a prelude to an adventure, and I shall expect the story to be worth the wait.
Inspired by blogs from my friends Ziva, currently in Lyon, and Matt, currently in Dublin.
